Hi there! I’m Amanda Bates, a Registered Social Worker with a Master of Social Work degree. I provide virtual counselling across Ontario, supporting individuals living with chronic illness and chronic pain, as well as those experiencing challenges such as anxiety, depression, stress, grief, caregiver fatigue and burnout, low self-esteem, or the impact of major life changes. I understand how these experiences can affect every part of life, from relationships and work to your sense of self, and I strive to provide a space where you feel heard, understood, and supported.
My approach is health-aware and compassionate, recognizing the connetion between physical and emotional well-being. I draw from Ecological and Social Systems approaches, Narrative Therapy, ACT, Mindfulness-based strategies and CBT, tailoring each session to meet your needs and goals.
I know reaching out for support can feel like a big step, so I offer flexible appointment times, including evenings and weekends, to help make counselling more accessible. My goal is to provide a supportive and collaborative space where you can explore challenges, build coping strategies, and feel empowered in your journey.
I look forward to connecting with you and supporting you as you navigate the challenges you’re facing.
